The head teacher has been having parent conferences the past week. She got the skinny on the picture from two entries ago. Apparently, when the girl was 3 (she is now 6) a man went out on the roof of her apartment building, shot several times, then jumped. Aside from the shooter, I don't believe anyone was injured, but whoa. Sad story, and so sad how my student remembers it...and includes it in her family portrait.
